Avid Champ Lavanya won many medals in District and state level. She participated in KVS admission via Archery sports trials in Rohtak Haryana and got selection in top 8 players. SAI conduct trial of multiple locations to select talented sports students for KVS admission. Selection committee comprising of coaches/Members from SAI and KVS will finalize the list of students to be admitted in KVS based on performance in the selection trial. Top 8 position holder in state champion in the age group of 10 to 14 years also be eligible to appear for the selection trial.

Sneha Kataria got Ticket to Tata Archery Academy in 2020 Batch

Sneha is one of the best and dedicated player of Avid Archery Club. She is national medalist and aiming for Olympics. Tata Archery Academy is known to have produced world class archers like Deepika Kumari and Jayanta Talukdar. Both are Olympians and Arjuna awardees. The cadets at the academy are trained for four years under experienced coaches. Some are given extension based on their performances. Most of the cadets get employment after their graduation. Archery is one of our traditional sport. Archers are known as “Dhanurdhar” in Sanskrit and in India, we had many renowned Dhanurdhars. Ramayan and Mahabharat portrays Ram, Arjun as greatest archers (Dhanurdhars). Archery had been chosen as part of the Olympic discipline in 1972. If you’ve ever been to an archery class, you’ve probably heard someone ask, “Why aren’t my arrows hitting the middle?” Though every shot is a learning opportunity, it’s still a great feeling to hit a bull’s-eye, and it’s OK to want to hit the middle every time! For arrows that don’t get #extramiddle, we’ll review five common archery mistakes that archers face – and some ways to correct them. 1. Determine which eye to aim with and which hand will hold the bow. 2. Check your draw length. 3. Use the right size bow and arrows. 4. Protect yourself from the bowstring with an arm guard and finger tab. 5. Develop proper shooting technique from the beginning. 6. Shoot only when you feel comfortable at full draw. 7. Follow through when you shoot.
