Archery in India

Archery is one of our traditional sport. Archers are known as “Dhanurdhar” in Sanskrit and in India, we had many renowned Dhanurdhars. Ramayan and Mahabharat portrays Ram, Arjun as greatest archers (Dhanurdhars). Archery had been chosen as part of the Olympic discipline in 1972. Archers from different counties participate in Olympics to represent their Nation. Archery doesn’t have upper age limit, anyone who has interest in games but didn’t get chance earlier then they can also play this game. Vision of Avid Archery Club is to promote archery and produce archers who can win medals for India in Olympics or in international archery tournaments. Since from inception of Avid Archery Club, we have organized many events to promote this ancient game in Delhi, Gurgaon, Haryana. We are also giving free trials at our campus so that everyone can feel the experience of this royal game.

Archery is safe, fun, and easy to learn. It is a discipline suitable for all ages and abilities. This is a lifetime sport, suitable for the entire family, and appropriate for those who have never held a bow, or those with previous experience. A person who participates in archery is typically called an archer. Someone who is fond of or an expert or eager to learn is called Avid Archer You have to try.
